Disc-Overy – Tinie Tempah

If you didn’t know that Tinie Tempah’s album is dropping on Monday then you are more out of touch than the trapped Chilean miners. Join us as we review if Tinie has explored enough on his quest for discovery?

The guy who told you to ‘Pass Out’ and has recently ‘Written in The Stars’ has managed to produce a host of engaging hits, the album is a people pleaser and Sharp-tongued Tinie makes you laugh with his lyrical prowess.

His lyrics are raw and immature, something that you would expect from a 21 year old man, but this is not a negative observation, and it just means that Tinie has stayed true to his voice and what he represents.

Every album needs a collaboration and ‘Invincible’ should have been it but in my opinion it fell short. Kelly Rowland and Tinie do not pull it off as it lacks punch and sounds like a Tinchy Stryder track. The duet is not as organic as ‘Frisky’ and feels forced, nor is it as engaging as his work on ‘Miami to Ibiza’ with the Swedish House Mafia, a club tune sure to fill the dance floor and climb up the UK charts.

The album is however, a good debut from the south Londoner who proudly waves the British flag like others have done before him.

A good attempt however, I do expect Tinie’s future sophomore album to hit you harder than the credit crunch.
